Pick the range before the racket
Most brands split their rackets into ranges: one for easy power, one for spin, one for control. Find the right range and the model choice gets much easier.
Also covered: Dunlop, Tecnifibre, Prince, ProKennex, Volkl, Solinco.

Check the handle and the full cost
Grip size is the handle size
Labels such as L2 and L3 refer to the handle circumference. Try the racket with the grip and overgrip you will use: hold it securely without squeezing hard, then check you can change grips comfortably.
An overgrip is a thin layer over the main grip. It can add a little thickness, but it won’t make an oversized handle smaller. Ask the shop to help with fit before ordering.
Compare the cost to get on court
Add the racket, any strings and stringing, a grip if needed, and delivery. A slightly dearer racket that comes strung can cost less overall than an unstrung offer.
If it comes strung, ask what string and tension are fitted. Compare demo fees, whether they are credited to a purchase, and the shop’s returns terms too.
