Check the string set before you order.
Bringing your own string? Agree which one with your stringer before you buy, and remember the fitting charge comes on top of the packet price.
Check the packet
- Full name: check the exact brand and string model.
- Thickness: confirm the diameter, such as 1.25 mm or 1.30 mm.
- Length: a set does one restring, a reel does several. Ask whether the set is long enough for your racket.
- Hybrid contents: check both strings are in the packet, and which goes up the racket and which goes across.
- Delivery: make sure it will arrive before your booking.
Tell your stringer
Bring the packet with its label. Agree the tension, which string goes where in a hybrid, and what they charge to fit string you’ve supplied.
Compare the full restringing cost
Packet, plus fitting, plus delivery. Compare that total with a shop quote that includes the string; sometimes the shop wins.
A reel only saves money if you get through it. Ask your stringer what it works out at per restring before you buy in bulk.
